प्रधानमंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी ने नगर नियोजकों से यहां शनिवार को अपील की कि वे शहरीकरण को आपदा की तरह न देखें, बल्कि उसे समावेशी तरीकों से लोगों के जीवन को समृद्ध बनाने व सुधारने के एक अवसर की तरह देखें. स्मार्ट सिटी मिशन के तहत भारत में चयनित 20 शहरों के लिए 84 विभिन्न स्मार्ट सिटी परियोजनाओं का उद्धाटन करते हुए मोदी ने कहा कि शहरीकरण को विनाश के बजाय भविष्य के लिए आगे की योजना की तरह देखा जाना चाहिए.
